The Alc\u00e1zar I, II and III plants, located in Alc\u00e1zar de San Juan (Ciudad Real), have a total capacity of 150 MW, and it is estimated that they will supply 295,345 MWh per year, equivalent to the energy requirements of 105,000 households.<br \/>\nGeorgios Papadimitriou, COO of Galp for Renewables and New Business, stated \u201cThe start of operations at Logro and Alc\u00e1zar confirm our commitment to continue leading the way on transitioning to a more sustainable energy system, increasing energy security for the Iberian Peninsula and lowering electricity costs for all\u201d. He adds, \u201cWe are fulfilling our commitments to our shareholders, as well as to society.\u201d<br \/>\nGalp is currently one of the biggest producers of photovoltaic solar power in the Iberian Peninsula, with an installed capacity of 1.2 GW in production, integrated into a total portfolio of 9.6 GW which includes projects under development in Spain, Brazil and Portugal.
